Closed captioning can broaden your reach among non-native speakers but also among viewers in office environments where audio is discouraged. Effective titling will draw viewers who aren’t going to take the trouble of playing the video to learn what it’s about.

If you supplement the video with an accompanying transcript, search engines will index the multimedia content more effectively, increasing the search traffic to your site. Adding subtitles to your video is another effective tactic.

Here are six tips you should incorporate to build more engagement and ensure your posts reach more people, given recent changes to the algorithm.

Use eye-catching images

1When users scroll through their feeds, they won’t take much time to scrutinize every post and read though the lengthy captions. Make sure your images are eye catching — it may make your audience more likely to interact. Use bold colors, large text, or high contrast.

Engage with others

2To boost engagement on Instagram — or on any platform — you need to engage with other people. This means others within your industry and your target audience, too. Like and comment on their posts.
